Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

This policy explains what the Drafter Toolbox collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to draftertoolbox.com, operated by Drafter Inc. We built the toolbox to be usable without an account, and we try to collect as little as possible.

1. Information we collect

  • Anonymous session identifier. Instead of accounts, we set a randomly generated identifier in a cookie so your history and uploads stay associated with you during and across visits. It is not tied to your name or email.
  • Calculator inputs. Values you type into calculators are processed in your browser to compute results. They are only sent to our servers if you send them to an AI tool (for example, by asking the assistant to explain your results).
  • Uploaded files and drawings. When you use the Drawing Redliner, the files you upload are stored so they can be analyzed and shown back to you.
  • Messages and conversations. Prompts and chat messages you send to the AI tools, and the responses, are stored so your conversation history persists.
  • Usage and diagnostic data. We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which tools are used and to keep the site fast and reliable. This includes standard technical data such as page views, approximate performance metrics, and general device/browser information.

2. How we use information

  • To operate the calculators, generators, and AI tools;
  • To maintain your session history and show your uploads and conversations back to you;
  • To monitor performance, debug issues, prevent abuse, and improve the Service; and
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing and third parties

When you use an AI tool, your prompt (along with any tool context or uploaded drawing you provide) is sent to third-party AI model providers through an AI gateway in order to generate a response. Depending on the model you select, providers may include vendors such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and xAI. We rely on providers’ enterprise/API offerings, which are generally configured for zero data retention and do not train foundation models on your inputs; however, the exact handling is governed by each provider’s terms.

We also use trusted infrastructure vendors to host the site, store files, and run our database. These vendors process data only to provide their services to us.

4. Confidential and controlled information

Please do not submit information you are not authorized to disclose. Because inputs, drawings, and messages may leave your device and be processed by third-party AI and cloud providers, you should not upload employer-confidential, trade-secret, classified, or export-controlled material (including ITAR/EAR-controlled technical data) unless you are permitted to share it with such services. You are responsible for ensuring your submissions comply with your organization’s policies and applicable law.

5. Data retention

We retain uploaded files and conversation history to provide the Service and may remove them periodically or on request. Analytics data is retained in aggregate. You can clear your local session (and its association with your history) by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser.

6. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the AI providers and infrastructure vendors needed to run the Service, and when required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies: one for the anonymous session identifier described above, and cookies used by our analytics and performance tooling. Blocking cookies may limit features such as conversation history.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; another reason not to submit material you are not permitted to share.

9. Your choices

  • Use the calculators without invoking any AI tool to keep inputs local to your browser;
  • Clear this site’s cookies to reset your anonymous session and detach your history; and
  • Contact us to request deletion of uploads or conversations associated with your session.

10. Children

The Service is intended for professional and educational use by adults and is not directed to children under 13.

11. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
